Hi, I'm Melinda and I am so glad you are here.

I have a good life, but I don't take credit for much. Until my later years, my life lacked intentionality—aligning with my values, finding joy, and nourishing my soul. It’s been good, but I wish it had been more deliberate. That’s why I’m passionate about helping women discover their values and create authentic, joyful lives.

When I graduated from college, I took a sales job. Why? Because my father told me I had a beautiful smile and should go into sales. I didn't know anything about sales and I wasn't interested in sales, but I had no better plan. Unsurprisingly, I failed.

Then I went to the University of Pennsylvania for a masters degree, not because I had a plan but because school was safe and I knew how to succeed there. This was an accidental good choice. In my Counseling Psychology masters program, I found something I really was interested in and loved, so moving onto the PhD was the natural next step. After graduation, I worked in residential treatment with children who had been abused and neglected. It was very good and necessary work but emotionally taxing.

When I became a mother, the emotional toll of the work with such needy children was too much. I rushed to find another job and landed in a job doing pharmaceutical marketing research. Although there was nothing intentional and deliberate about this choice, I found a lot of satisfaction in this new career—a happy accident where my curiosity and psychology skills were valued and put to good use. I started out looking for a new job and incidentally changed careers.

Throughout all the job and life changes, I have always found joy in raising my daughters, strong friendships with smart women, and crafting—mosaics, knitting, crocheting, macrame, pottery throwing, decoupage and more. These are the parts of my life that have nourished me, relaxed me and energized me all at once.

I realize now that what I needed then was a program like the Art of Act3 Coaching Progam. I needed help identifying my passions and values so that my life choices could have been more intentional.

Now, I’ve embraced my path. I know that my best combination of skills, values and passions has led me here⎯to connect with other women and help them dream up and cultivate tools to build their best Act3 Lives. That is why I created the Art of Your Act3 Life Coaching Program. I want other women to experience the joy of creating their lives in an intentional and joyful manner. The metaphor of mosaic beautifully represents this journey⎯piecing together the broken, overlooked and unexpected to create something uniquely beautiful and whole.
